In a case reminiscent to the “White Van Scam” revealed by www.connectedaustralia.com just a couple of months ago, two men have been arrested for allegedly selling high-end stereo equipment from white vans in south-west NSW.

Police arrested the two men aged 25 and 26 earlier this week in Narrandera, after receiving tip-offs from the public about suspicious sales of stereo equipment.

After stopping and conducting a search of the two white vans in question, Police found over $160,000 worth of home entertainment equipment, including amplifiers, speakers and multimedia interfaces. Police also seized over $13,000 in cash and other goods.

Both men are from Lalor in Victoria. The 25-year-old was charged with one count of good in custody, whilst the other man was charged with two counts of goods in custody.

They were granted conditional bail and are due to appear before Narrandera Local Court on October 22.
