JB Hi-Fi has revealed it is expanding its commercial division with four new appointments, including two former WOW Sight and Sound employees to lead the company’s Queensland commercial operations, and its first WA based commercial manager.
Former WOW Sight and Sound national commercial manager, Gerard Cassidy has been appointed to the role of JB Hi-Fi Queensland sales manager. Cassidy will be based at JB Hi-Fi Mt Gravatt and will manage the Queensland commercial team, with a focus on mining and building industry opportunities.
“Gerard brings with him a wealth of Commercial experience at companies including Daikin, Philips and Sharp,” a JB Hi-Fi spokesperson said.
Angela Toomey has also joined JB Hi-Fi from WOW Sight and Sound, and has taken on the role of commercial coordinator for Queensland. Toomey will be working along side Cassidy at the Mt Gravatt store.
Recognising opportunity for growth in the mining state of Western Australia, JB Hi-Fi has appointed its first WA based commercial employee. Chris Tung will begin the role account manager WA at the end of March.
“Chris joins JB from one of our suppliers, RVM, where he was the State Sales Manager. Chris has over 10 years’ experience in CE and associated products having worked his way up in the RVM business where he was one of the first employees,” the spokesperson said.
“Chris is our first WA based Commercial employee and will also focus on the mining sector as well as other Commercial opportunities in the WA market.”
JB Hi-Fi’s has also appointed Candy French as the new account manager- gift cards.
“Candy joined us in January from a background in online advertising sales to help drive growth in the B2B gift card market. This market is worth approximately $1.5 billion per annum in Australia and Candy is already making great inroads with the JB gift card.”
