The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation has received a $508,911 donation from Fujitsu General, presented at the company’s annual Terrey Hills Celebrity Golf Day this week. This donation is part of Fujitsu’s ongoing support of the charity, founded by Australian sporting legends including air conditioning ambassador and former Australian cricket captain Mark Taylor.
Founded in 1998 by rugby league legend Reg Gasnier, Olympian Raelene Boyle, triple Brownlow Medallist Bob Skilton and Taylor, The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which supports scholarships and fellowships for doctors and scientists to fight cancer. It also contributes to the development of hospital care and treatment programs to make life easier for children suffering with cancer.
The cheque was presented to the Sporting Chance team by Fujitsu General (Aust.) Pty Limited managing director, Shuichi Takada and deputy managing director, Philip Perham.
“The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation makes a huge difference to the lives of young cancer sufferers and their families. We hope our annual contribution will continue to make an impact and as ever look forward to seeing the Foundation’s activities expand again this year,” Perham said.
Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation patrons in attendance included Australian rugby union international Stirling Mortlock, horse racing commentator Ken Callander, Mark Taylor and Bob Skilton, as well as foundation board member Jack Hughes.
