It's difficult to comprehend the possiblity of an energy efficient 52-inch TV, but Sharp looks set to change this notion with the release of their seven star rated TV - the first one ever in the 52-inch market segment.

"Large model televisions are generally known to produce and use more power and energy. We at Sharp are dedicated to developing and improving high performance home entertainment technology that meets energy efficient standards," Sharp's deputy managing director Denis Kerr said.

The LC52LE700X is a LED backlit 52" LCD television, that boasts an energy efficient performance when compared with other conventional LCD TV's. The reduction in energy consumption is due to the LED technology which delivers incredibly low power consumption of only 173W. Lower power consumption also means far less heat generation and improved backlight life.
