Panasonic welcomes top Lumix sales staff
The Top LUMIX salespeople received a warm welcome while visiting the Panasonic Centre in Tokyo, Japan.
Panasonic Australia has defied economic turbulence and hosted a group of 90 retailers from Australia to Japan last week as a culmination of Panasonic’s LUMIX ‘Shoot For Japan’ trade promotion. The contingent comprised retail salespeople from stores around Australia whom the company had decreed LUMIX sales “stars”.

The four-day event enabled the group to visit the Panasonic factory in Yamagata that is the home of LUMIX digital still camera technology. The tour was hosted by Panasonic Consumer Electronics Group director Paul Reid as well as company sales, marketing and training staff.

Future technology on display
Retailers also attended company briefings and were able to see current and future technology showcased at the ‘Panasonic Centre’ in Tokyo. Sightseeing in Tokyo included the Akihabara electronics district as well as the Asukusa temple area.

Reid described the group as “enthusiastic” about the opportunity to see Panasonic ‘black box technology’ and advanced Panasonic optical lens manufacturing demonstrated first hand at the Yamagata factory.

“They were able to try out our exciting new LUMIX G1 digital interchangeable lens camera during the trip,” he said.

“At our final official dinner we made a formal presentation to the top 10 salespeople, with the top three receiving a LUMIX G1, while the other high achievers received a LUMIX TZ15. Whilst the visit to Japan was a wonderful educational experience for the retailers who attended, it was also a great way for Panasonic to show our appreciation for their ongoing support of our LUMIX products,” Reid added.
