Chimei.jpgTaiwanese flat-panel manufacturer Chimei Innolux has filed another patent infringement case against Sony with the U.S. International Trade Commission, requesting a halt of the sale and importation of many of the company’s products.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Chimei alleges that Sony infringed on a number of its patents and is therefore requesting a ban on the sale and importation of Sony PS3 consoles, BRAVIA LCD televisions, VAIO notebooks and CyberShot digital cameras.

The latest lawsuit was filed with the Delaware Federal District Court, with Chimei having already filed a similar suit on July 7 against Sony with the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Arkansas, demanding compensation for the alleged infringement of three of its patents.

The company's "patent portfolio covers key aspects of today's consumer electronics, and many of its key components...we have a policy to respect the intellectual properties so where third parties infringe our intellectual property rights, we will take forceful actions to vigorously protect our rights," Chimei said in the statement.

Sony has yet to release a statement on the matter.
