The eruption of 3D technology is looking promising, with Sears accepting online pre-orders for Samsung 3D TVs.

The 46-inch (UN46C7000WFXZA) and 55-inch (UN55C7000WFXZA) LED models are set to hit stores and the online world in March, but are being presold via a Samsung splash page at www.sears.com/electronics.

The company has said it will also provide customers with facts on 3D TV to help clarify misguided ideas concerning the technology. Some of the so-called 'myths' include:

  • including the apparent need to wear 3D glasses for all content

  • regular content appearing fuzzy after watching 3D programming

  • 3D TVs being ridiculously expensive.

"The anticipation for the 3D experience at home has been mounting, and we're giving our shoppers a competitive edge by being one of the first retailers to offer these products," Sears Holdings president of home electronics, Karen Austin said.
