The industry's leading floorcare suppliers reveal their present and future plans to Connected.
An online initiative from Miele
Miele has committed to assisting its specialist vacuum cleaner retailers with several initiatives such as consumer campaigns and tailored trade promotions. Plans are also in place to grow the firm's online presence in a bid to build contact with a younger generations.
"The higher average sell price, the increasing sell-through and the popularity of bag vacuum cleaners will make Miele the brand of choice amongst our retail partners during 2010," said Kris Ronsmans, floorcare and extended warranty category manager for Miele Australia. "Our core message to appliance retailers is to focus on profitable, reliable brands such as Miele with a solid brand reputation and a proven track record in design, engineering and the manufacturing of quality products."
Product diversification at Sanyo
Sanyo is positioned to offer a wide variety of floorcare models in a strategy designed to ensure the company thrives even when economic times present challenges. Jason Oh, consumer product manager, said the firm offered quality models to suit various consumer lifestyles, certain this formula would continue to build a successful vacuum cleaner brand.
Its range is include models for everyday use to special purpose needs such as the SC5006 for pet hair "It is this product diversification that will enable Sanyo to be successful in the category even when you consider the economic climate," he said. And he highlighted how all Sanyo vacuum cleaners underwent extensive quality testing and inspection before their release into the marketplace. "The Sanyo brand has been associated with quality and reliability for many decades," he said.
Nilfisk tailors promotions for individual retailers
Nilfisk-Advance will concentrate on promotions tailored specifically to individual retailers for its floorcare promotional efforts in 2010. "We are offering retailers promotions that they prefer with their business strategy in mind," said national retail sales manager Kim Hiland. "This year, we are promoting the Extreme Free with the Nilfisk Gerni High Pressure Cleaner in some stores."
Give-aways to promote Dyson
Bonus give-aways by redemption are being offered by Dyson to promote sales of its floorcare range. A Clean and Tidy Kit, valued at $120, is being offered as a redemption with the purchase of any current Dyson HEPA model in a promotion running from 1 September to 31 October 2010. The kit includes Dyson's soft dusting brush and mattress tool, an Accessory storage bag and Dyson's Little Book of Cleaning Tips.
In another promotion running until 5 September 2010, consumers who purchase a DC30 or DC31 Dyson handheld can receive by redemption a bonus Dyson handheld toolkit valued at $99. The kit includes a wide nozzle tool, mini soft dusting brush, extension hose and stubborn dirt brush.
Bonus from Hoover
A bonus Turbo Brush offer, valued at $100, will be offered by Hoover in the lead-up to Christmas. It will be available for consumers who purchase all Hoover Xarion models. Promotions after Christmas are still being finalised and approved.
