Myer
Myer has been given the OK to operate ‘stores with stores.’

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has granted authorisation to Myer allowing it to continue to invite concession businesses operating within its stores to participate in promotions.

These 'stores within stores', which license or rent space from Myer, display and sell only the brand of product promoted and sold by the relevant concession business and are operated independently of Myer.

"The ACCC considers that the arrangements will result in public benefit in the form of reduced prices for consumers by facilitating the participation of concession businesses in periodic sales," ACCC chairman Graeme Samuel, said.

"The ACCC also considers the arrangements are likely to continue to encourage price competition between Myer and its competitors," Samuel said. The ACCC has granted authorisation until September 30, 2013.
